Whitney Port to host Chicago fashion event “Design Your Life”

Next month Whitney Port will be in Chicago and hosting a lifestyle event and seminar. She will host an interactive conversation with the guests about how to balance the challenges of building a successful career and also a well-rounded life. There will be a question and answer session, which should be fairly interesting. I know I have many questions that I could ask her, so I hope that the people who do get called to ask questions have some good ones lined up.

This could be a fun event before shopping season really becomes overwhelming. I like that there will be free cocktails. Seriously though, Whitney Port is actually one of the celeb-reality TV stars that I actually like and it is nice that her event has a somewhat empowering context rather than the usual “Hey, watch me walk into a club!” that Chicago is left with being somewhere between New York and LA.

Psycho Baby – fashion for the little one

On a mission through the Bucktown/Wicker Park area I came across this great little store for toddlers, Psycho Baby. It is all of your rock ‘n roll baby fantasies come true. Rolling Stones onesies (pic below), Beatles lullabye CDs, Led Zeppelin baby tees, to name a few. In addition, they have Sundae dresses for little girls (pic below), and other fun items that add a little pizzaz to any toddler’s wardrobe. The people who were working in the store at 1630 N. Damen were really nice, which made the experience even better.
